Prashant Gandhi

Research Escalation Engineer

Biography:

Prashant is a research escalation engineer in Intel Research’s Research Escalation and Technology Transfer group.  He spends most of his time creating software solutions from experimental designs and research papers, creating release-quality prototypes, interfacing with various internal and external business units and demoing technologies at key venues.

In the past, Prashant has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from machine learning algorithms for platform power management to web applications for semantic web to network intrusion detection algorithms. Prashant is currently engaged in projects around Peer to Peer data sharing, rich user experience for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and laptops, also advanced sensing and inferencing technologies. 

Prashant received his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University in 2005 and briefly worked in Intel’s Ultra Mobile Group. He joined Intel Research’s Santa Clara lab in 2006 with a project exploring the use of machine learning algorithms for reducing laptop power consumption. His interests include emerging technologies, platform power management and innovative software solutions for next generation computing. In his free time, Prashant likes to race cars and is a big fan of Formula 1 racing.
