Bio:

Yurong Chen is a researcher at the Application Research Lab in the Microprocessor Technology Lab, Beijing (Intel China Research Center). Currently, he conducts research on parallel processing of emerging applications, scalable workloads, benchmarking, and performance analysis for next-generation microprocessors/platforms. He has performed parallel computing, performance analysis and workload characterization research in many application domains such as data mining in bioinformatics, game-tree search, text mining, audio search and content-based video information retrieval. He joined Intel in 2004. Before that he did two years’ postdoctoral research on large-scale scientific computing, unstructured grid generation software for petroleum reservoir simulation and parallel computing in the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He holds 3 pending US patents and has published over 30 papers in leading conferences and journals. He received the PhD and the MS degree in computational mathematics in 2002 and 2000, and the BS degree in applied mathematics in 1998, all from Tsinghua University.
